How to contest your citation

Request a hearing or municipal court review using your agency's official form.

Before you pay

Paying your citation by its due date satisfies your citation without a court appearance

Paying your citation is an admission of liability and does not require a court appearance. Pay your citation by its due date to avoid late fees.
Select the form for the agency that issued your citation. If you were not the driver, you must first complete a transfer of liability before contesting, where permitted by your jurisdiction.

Steps to contest

  1. Log in to view your citation using the Citation Number and PIN on your notice, and click 'Contest' to download your issuing agency's contestment form.
  2. Complete and return the form before your due date.
  3. Appear at your scheduled hearing if required.
  4. Enter a plea of guilty or not guilty as directed by your jurisdiction.
